Article Summary:

Are there any surprises in store that haven’t been revealed yet regarding the 2021-22 Boston Celtics?

If there is, it’ll be revealed in the next month as training camp opens for the first time in the Ime Udoka era.

Brad Stevens is the new Danny Ainge, and he’s been wildly active in the trade and free-agent markets since being installed in the President of Basketball Operations role this past June.

After bringing on Al Horford, Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson, Juan Hernangomez, Enes Kanter, and Bruno Fernando, Stevens put the finishing touches on his first roster as head honcho of player movement the past two weeks.

In inviting five more players to camp to reach the 20-player threshold, Hardwood Houdini took to the task of ranking all of the Boston Celtics training camp invites and their likelihood of making the roster:

#5 Boston Celtics training camp invite: Luke Kornet

Luke Kornet has the disadvantage of having already not worked out perfectly as part of the Cs rotation after a half-season struggle in 2020-21 after he was acquired in the Daniel Theis-Chicago Bulls trade.

Kornet’s shooting numbers have remained below average since he left the New York Knicks in 2019, and with the influx of frontcourt talent this past summer on Boston’s roster, Kornet is a likely goner when cuts begin.
