During today’s Hall of Fame press conference, 2020 NBA Hall of Fame inductee and former Boston Celtics champion center Kevin Garnett was asked about winning the 2008 NBA championship during his time in Boston. The Celtic legend showered his former organization with lavish praise in response, ranging from the fans who supported him to the franchise he won that title with itself and its long and decorated past.
Garnett also spent some time touching on his only regret about his time in green and white: That the South Carolina native didn’t get himself out of the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Celtics sooner.
In his own words, here is what winning as a Celtic meant to the Hall of Fame power forward:
“Getting with a storied franchise like Boston gave me light.”
