With that kind of interest and surrounding context, Nance won’t be a cheap deal for the Celtics or any team hoping to acquire his contract – if it is even available.
But if the Celtics want to make a meaningful upgrade without burning up too much of their $28.5 million traded player exception and happen to have a player Cleveland might be particularly interested in on the margins, it might well be a move worth exploring.
