Jayson Tatum reveals Celtics don’t have trust issues to blame for record

Article Summary:

There has been speculation that perhaps the team’s two star wings, Tatum and first-time All-Star forward Jaylen Brown, have lost trust in their teammates since everyone from two-way point guard Tremont Waters to starting point guard Kemba Walker has had issues with their games during this most unusual of seasons. “That’s part of being a team. Trusting each other regardless of the result.”

“Trust comes with all the work that we put in since we’ve been in the league, since we’ve been part of this team. Knowing what each other is capable of, you don’t stop trusting the guy because he missed his last shot, or they’re struggling in their game.”

“You always encourage them to make the right play and believe the next one is going in,” he added. Co/Krdi8AH1dX

It’s important that Tatum and his teammates trust each other given the importance of ball movement to this team’s success on the offensive end of the ball.

But if it isn’t a lack of trust that’s to blame for the lack of consistent offensive help from their teammates, it may simply be the case that a few new teammates – and a few less of their current ones – are the most plausible solution moving forward.
